Ok so I've got a 2000 F250 5.4L V8 2WD. I recently put on 20" Harley rims from a 2007 F250. I had to use 2" hubcentric wheels spacers to make up for the offset difference. The new Harley rims and tires are balanced, tire are in great shape, and have the proper air pressure. When I hit between 40-50mph I get a pretty nasty front end wobble. My truck did not do this until after the spacer/wheel combo. Could the spacers be causing some of the front end geometry to be off? I've also looked at the upper and lower ball joint, as well as the tie rod ends, and everything checks out as fine. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
If you have a poorly machined spacer, or one that is not properly installed, it would be easy to have a wheel wobble.
You can try a front to rear wheel and spacer swap and see if you can locate the problem one. Alternately, jack up one wheel at a time and spin the wheel/tire combination by hand. Check for any wobble or runout. With luck, you can find the problem one.
Do the spacers have tapers inside for wheel allignment? Correct me if I'm wrong but some cheaper spacers won't allign properly this not centering you wheel on your hub baring.

I've swapped the wheels around and had the tires balanced. I'm beginning to think that spacers are just a bad idea. These are in fact hubcentric and have tapers within the spacer holes so they suck up to the stock studs. I've closely inspected the spacers on the truck and all are seated properly on the hubs. I'm going to try swapping spacers around at this point. This is a very frusterating situation
The stock hubs have have a lip that the center bore of the rims slides onto. The new spacers have no lip, therefore the rims have some sag (even though very slight) on the lugs. I believe I'll need to take the spacers off of the front wheels or suffer the front end wear that these spacers will cause. Does this seem the the reason my wheels are wobbling?
