so i put my 69 on a 78 frame, and it has the 460 with the 78 wiring but my cab wiring is the 69, and im not sure what the easiest way to do it, without spending any money, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Shouldn't be hard to make your '69 wiring work on the newer chassis. They didn't change/add much. Granted wire colors won't match, you'll just have to sort through it.
Most of the forward wiring shouldn't be too hard to figure out. The wiring to the back of truck is only 4 wires(back up, 2 turn/brake, and a running light).
yes ,wiring harness, coil, distributor and brain box from the 78, i have the engine turning over now from the ignition in the cab, but i have 3 wires coming out of the distributor and i cant figure out what they connect too, i have a few loose wires still hanging around, but i cant figure it out even with the diagram.
The engine wiring harness should have a plug that plugs into the distributer and the coil and then should also connect to the brain box, the brain box should have two plugs coming out of it, one plug for the engine harness and the other plug should have two wires coming out of it. I do believe the red wire from the two wire plug is the only wire needed from that plug. What I have done before is run the original wire that went to the positive side of the coil to the red wire on the two wire plug on the brain box.
If your engine harness is missing plugs or wires let me know as I am getting ready to wire up my 69 with a duraspark ign. and I can trace my wires and let you know which is which.
Helps a little, but i still cant find where the other end of the black purple and orange wires are, maybe they dont even exist, and im gonna have to get new wiring

Which end of the black purple and orange wires can't you find? Are they missing from the dis. or the wiring harness?
there are the three coming out of the dist. and then i cant find the other ones anywhere from the harness, i also might be missing the electric control module after looking at it
