Shouldn't be hard to make your '69 wiring work on the newer chassis. They didn't change/add much. Granted wire colors won't match, you'll just have to sort through it.

Most of the forward wiring shouldn't be too hard to figure out. The wiring to the back of truck is only 4 wires(back up, 2 turn/brake, and a running light).

Do you have the engine wiring harness, coil, distributor and brain box from the 78'? (duraspark ign.) if so that is a super easy hook up.

The engine wiring harness should have a plug that plugs into the distributer and the coil and then should also connect to the brain box, the brain box should have two plugs coming out of it, one plug for the engine harness and the other plug should have two wires coming out of it. I do believe the red wire from the two wire plug is the only wire needed from that plug. What I have done before is run the original wire that went to the positive side of the coil to the red wire on the two wire plug on the brain box.

If your engine harness is missing plugs or wires let me know as I am getting ready to wire up my 69 with a duraspark ign. and I can trace my wires and let you know which is which.

Which end of the black purple and orange wires can't you find? Are they missing from the dis. or the wiring harness?
