help me out guys

okay summers approaching and im gettin some goodys for the bronco its an 89 with a 5 speed efi bare bones with some lil mods nothing fancy at all really

so ive recently acquired an 81 frame nice shape comes with all the axles 302 carbed motor c6 auto tranny all for 200 bucks dunno if the motor is stuck or not, carbs frozen wich leads me to believe water has gotten in there not good if its a boat anchor itll be sold for scrap if not i might refresh it

anyway enough rambling, im getting a 460 out of a 74 lincoln mk iv its been sitting for a number of years but under a closed hood. now it could be stuck but the carb actually still functions wich is a good sign its had it air cleaner on it the whole time too so i do think it will turn over. if it does, where its been sitting so long what should i do to bring it back to a good reliable driver, im already planning new gaskets plugs wires cap rotor gettin rid of the points goin with a pertronix solid state igntion all that stuff
what im worried about is bearings rings the meat of the motor it has 115,000 according to the odometer it has oil in it, its old and black but still very fluid. i wanna get it cleaned up painted and set up in my frame before the body goes on so assuming it runs doesnt smoke doesnt miss(dont say it cant happen, i came across an f100 in the woods with a 360 v8, threw a battery in it and with less than half a crank it fired right up and ran like it was bought yesterday, pulled it right out to the house, stopped with the e-brake lol)
one more thing with d3ve heads how much work do i have to put into it to eat an 01 silverado, or at the bear minimum, get 350-375 to the rear wheels

First thing I would do is get the breaker bar and a 15/16 socket and try to turn it over, Turns good? good start. Then turn it back and forth a little bit, you can actually feel play in the rod bearings. I would guess you'll want to go in and change rod and main bearings maybe get the crank polished while it's out. You'll need a different oil pan and pump any ways. I did the 460 swap into my '78. L&L makes a great kit for this and includes all the brackets, pulleys, and they have a great set of headers to boot. Change the oil and gut an old distributor to use as a preluber, put it down the hole and spin it with a drill till it builds oil pressure, then turn the crank a few times while pumping, this gets the fresh oil into all of the bearings so they are not dry when it fires up. A set of higher compression heads (smaller chamber) and an upgraded cam will make plenty of power, might even scare you! LOL Someone else will have to get the head #s, I have been looking for the heads and there are 3 different chamber sizes from the factory. D3VE being the largest and most common.
good luck!

What gearbox are you planning on running behind that 7.5L behemoth? The M5R2 (M5OD) you have won't fit it nor will the C6 behind the 302 in the 81. You need a big-bell-housing unit to bolt to the 460.
