There was a post on this a while back; however, I cannot seem to find it. I wanted to install some factory driving/fog lights in the bumper, but since my truck is a ’99 it would take some work and $$$ to do this as my bumper doesn’t have the necessary bolt hole locations for the Ford OEM lights.
I managed to find some driving lights that are small enough to fit between the horizontal bars on the grille though. The thread I was trying to locate had pictures of the process of removing the grille and cutting notches in the back of the horizontal portions in order for the lights to be positioned between the bars without being actually bolted to them.
The lights I found are very small and lightweight, do any of you who have worked on the grille think it would be able to hold a small pair of halogen driving lights without cracking or otherwise being damaged by the weight or wind drag? If any of you have creative ways of mounting driving lights in or behind the grille I would appreciate it if you could post them so I can get some ideas.
