There really isn't a lack of engineering jobs here locally, just actually got off the phone with a placement company that has one job fairly local, and one a bit more distant but doable, at least for a while. I'm trying to stay fairly close here, don't particularly want to move my daughter to another school, and my wife has an excellent job at the university now.
