So it is time to replace the 275/55/R20 Scorpions. What are people replacing them with? I do not want to get new rims but I would like to go a little bigger if possible and not as much of a road tire, something with a little grip to it. I have researched on here and not found much except for 18 inch tires. Any thoughts?
I have used TireRack for a while but I am trying to figure out some other sizes that people ar putting on that do not create issues with the stock rims and have had good experiences. For example; My 1998 Chevy 4x4 could fit 33's but it would rub under certain situations; if you went with a specific size of Bridgestone Dueler you could get a tire that is just about 33 but would not rub at all and had good wear and low road noise.
Is there anyone who has replaced the stock tires with something a litle larger and has had a good experience?

275/60/20 fits well. No rub. No real significant speedo or trans issues. That will also expand your tire choices.
285/55/20 is another option too. Less offerings but the BFG AT KO is offered in said size.
Go to Tire Rack's website and click on the Bridgestone Dualer that you are talking about. If you click on the specs it'll give you most of the relevant info you need such as diameter, recommended wheel width range, width of tread and section width. Section width is the sidewall width. You can scroll down and all sizes of the Dualer info wil be given. From what I have read on this site 33's are about the max hieght without a mild front end lift and some slight rubbing may occur under certain conditions without the leveling kit.
Replaced factory junk scorpions.........@ 1,000 miles with Hankook ATM's LT285-55-20'S got over 20k on the tires now wearing great. Little rougher ride since they are 10ply's!
Coopers are on. Seem to be a lot better than the Scorpions. Only drove them the 10 miles to home. No road noise. I thought there would be as they are more aggressive than the Scorpions.
6Fastback7 How much were the Hankooks? I was looking for a 10 ply(Coopers are a heavy 4 ply whatever that means).

My '11 F-150 has Michelin tires on it, not too aggressive looking but I like the ride they give. Now my opinion has been and always will be BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain tires. The last three sets I owned lasted up to 100,000 miles or better. I've off-roaded a bit with them, I've plowed snow with them, I've gone mudding through washed out river beds trying to get to my hunting cabin with them. They are probably the best tire you can get IMO.
