Tips on goochs rad flush

This past weekend I finally got to doing my coolant flush and followed goochs procedure to the T. The only thing that I could stress before hand is do get some rust bust and soak the tstat housing bolts down and the inlet bolts that go to the hose that routes to the bottom of the rad. The only reason I had to take the inlet hose off is because one of the tstat housing bolts snapped and my w/p bearings were on the way out so I replaced my w/p. I usually do spray everything down when working on our equipment but I just figured that hey why wouldnt a steel bolt come out of an aluminum housing. The other thing is in the procedure it says to torque the housing bolts to a max 15ft lbs. well i did that and one decided to rip the threads out so Id say dont go anymore then 12 to 13 ft lbs. Also if you have the dieselsite coolant filter its a great time to install the shut off valves if you havent already and change over the hose that came with the install kit to silicone hose. Last but not least is the inlet elbow off of the w/p. I looked it over and it wasnt in the best of shape so I cleaned all the original paint off of it and shot it with Rust Tough from napa. Its made by krylon. But I have used this paint mulitple times and love the stuff. I belive that should be it, if I come up with something else I will post again.
