i bought a universal line out converter, tapped the drivers far rear speaker and added my 15" RF sub and 800w amp(need a bigger amp) its been working flawlessly in 3 different Ex's for 3 years. you can find a LOC(line out converter) really easy online or at a local radio shop. they are pretty cheap and easy to install.

I put a Fosgate 10" powered sub in mine and it had speaker level Inputs already. Ran power and spliced off if rear speakers. It's got a lot of boom for its size.

not at all, its how i've done all my sub installs. i dont like aftermarket head units so i've always had to use a LOC to hook the amp up. it sounds great!

are the good LOC expensive? i thought you would just use leads for your rear speakers to go to an amp to go to the subs, but my radios always sound bad, so what do i know, thats why i stick with stock, i dont like rap anyhows

no they can be had for about $25. i dont think it would work right if you just connect the speaker wires directly if your using it for a sub.
