I know the French was the first to go into Vietnam (Communist state) then the US went in. The US was losing alot of men to the Vietcong. Many people were protesting back at home in the US about it. I know this.

I also know many Pro-Communist movements were going on in America during that time as well such as within the Civil Rights Movements.

People say they might not care right now but when it happens then everyone gets involved in it (usually because they want to or they were dragged in it by another nation).

They are arming the Saudis just as they armed the Pakistan folks and found out that they were "tied to the Taliban".

And it is stupid for them posting that in the Washington Post; just shows you how dumb people are. "Yeh we're arming Saudi folks for the invasion Iran plans to do"...ha, yeah go ahead and tell them everything unless they are just trying to set up.

That's like I write on Facebook, "Hey, I am seeing one of my friend's wife (and he is on my friendslist) tonight and we're going to get it on like Donkey Kong, like my photos when I post them!" THE DUDE IS PLAINLY GOING TO SEE THIS. No wonder countries ban media-lol.

But you nor I knows what the Government does behind closed doors as I don't know what you and your wifes says at pillow talk. Somethings stay hidden from the public view but if it comes out, they make it look like it isn't bad and blah blah blah.

But also as I stated, we don't know what Iran does and we don't know what the hell is in Area 51. It's like North Korea, we don't know what they do besides cry and video tape it.

Gulf War was never won, it continued to where we are today. Bush Sr started it, then Bush Jr started the next one and it passes on to each President who promises to move us out then don't then the next President will promise to move us out then don't. They will move here and there but still stay in the Middle East.

War is never won, it just ends for a period of time. You lose your fellow comrades, that's not winning. You gain resources and land but at the cost of lives which will never be replaced because each person is different.

You think you "know" quite a bit. Now go look up what you "think" you know using multiple sources who can cite sources of their own.

Viet Nam was a French colony, which the French attempted to retake after WWII. It wasn't a "Communist state". The Viet Minh defeated the French, then the US stepped in.

And it is stupid for them posting that in the Washington Post; just shows you how dumb people are.
No, it's called "deterrence". That's completely different from operational details. Learn and know the difference. America needs a public which has a clue. It's a citizens duty to be informed or they can't properly use a democracy.

You are obviously quite young, (the nick gives it away) and have time to substitute study of facts for youthful emotions. The fellow whose name you use for an internet nick was effective because he thought and acted precisely.

Yeah, Vietnam was occupied by the French on a portion of it.
My point was that it was heading to be a Communist state which it did. They simply wanted to push the French out.

Just as the Indians joined Germany during WW2 to push out the British who ruled an occupied India but the Brits didn't leave until the 1960s.

Well, I know some Americans are wanting us out of the Middle East and I agree with them. The US doing like they are doing is only causing more tension and will be leading us into more than we can chew and there goes the economy.....

I may be young but the majority of my age doesn't give a damn except to get laid, get drunk, and be stupid.
You learn something new each and everyday until your dead and gone.

Manfred was and honorable person and the best ace during WWI. I could have been 50 yrs old and used his name.

"When is enough really enough"?

Mark my words..........At $5.00 a gallon the economy will stall and crash, and then all hell will break loose.

Won't completely stall, hopefully. Probably alot of fussing and boycotting and marching on the White House with pitch forks and torches.

$5.00 a gallon will make shipping and mfg crash, when food gets too expensive, mfg can't run, lay-offs start in droves, the S*** will hit the fan.........I would NOT want to be the CIC when this occurs on your watch.

Totally off topic, MVR......Are you a WWI buff, or is it just a admiration of the man?
Seems his 80 kills is kinda paltry considering the totals wracked up by dozens of Luftwaffe aces in WWII..........Maj. Erich Hartman with 352 kills, that's over 35 SQUADRONS of western Allied and Russian aircraft downed, plus many unconfirmed kills!

I like Erich Hartmann, I have a T-shirt with him and his plane and combat victories.

I like WWI and WWII but I also like the American Civil War (Confederate side since my family served in the Confederacy againat the dirty Union Yanks whom pillage our land).

I like looking at the totals that some of those guys tallied, some flew almost exclusively in the west against the RAF and USAAF and racked up over 100 kills against B-17s-B-24s and their P-51 Mustang and P-47 Thunderbolt escort fighters............Those guys could FLY!

Yes, the Germans were very effective. At the end of WWII, they couldn't train what new pilots like they could before. They were losing alot of men in the battlefield and not putting out trained enough pilots in the skies.

America and Britian had an advantage at the end because many Americans trained easily without have to worry about aerial combat in America while the Germans had to worry about it since they were in the middle of two battle fronts (East and West). Britian were also sending their pilots to America for training so this led Germany to do their best in the end and they did with fist swinging.

Hitler should allowed the Jet to come in quicker than it did but manufacturing them and stuff was time consuming. The Jet did have flaws but anything that is new does. You learn it's pros and cons after operating it for awhile.

Google registered vehicles in China 20 years ago. Google 10 years ago. Google the latest estimate circa 2009-2010. Last Google what the estimate is for 2020 and 2030. Think about how much gas it will take to fill those cars which will one day number and then pass those in the U.S. Food for thought...

China supplies it's own oil though. The US does not.

Russia exports oil as well when they can get past their own corrupt government regulations.

China supplies their own oil??? China is now the fourth largest producer of oil in the world after Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United States. She is capable of only meeting 50% of her domestic demand. Her growth in production is between 1-2% a year while consumption increases at 5% a year or more.

Read right here from the People's Daily Online and the Sinopec Group expert.

China's oil production ranks 4th in world, only meets half domestic demand - People's Daily Online

This is where China was in 2003-2004

Fueling the dragon: China's race into the oil market, by Gal Luft

China's Oil Supply Dependence

Seems to me that China is incapable and is going to become more incapable of supplying domestic oil for most of her needs.
