Starter help please
It is very slow starting. In my opinion it sounds as if the starter is dragging. The owner has had it for only a few weeks and suggested that the timing is turned down too low.
When you turn the key it turns the motor very slowly for a few turns and then picks up and cranks. It hasn't failed to start yet. It seems to be worse on hot starts than cold starts. In my limited experience that usually means starter.
Any thoughts?
Starter or timing?
The only thing I don't understand is how can timing cause the motor to turn slower when starting. If it was turning over but not starting I could understand.
I am an amateur but I am just curious.
