i got the haul the big message boards a couple weeks ago.
thes are the Vermac boards we own. not sure about the weight, but they are on a 6 bolt axle so i'm sure they are more than 3500lbs. the board is 15.5' wide and they catch a lot of wind when you haul them. on the back of the trailer it says "max speed 60mph" and that ain't no joke! ive tried going faster and they get very unstable. I'm thinking they aren't balanced very well and don't carry enough tongue weight. they pull at 55mph ok, but at 60mph they start to become a handfull.
these trucks pull stuff really nice, even with the heavy board behind me they are very comfortable. they don't let the trailer beat you up like the older generations did.
I don't get to play very often, so for me this is fun.
Shines up pretty good for a 7 year old work truck.
Most days it feels pointless to even give it a bath, but when you actually spend the time to clean it up right it still shines like new. For sure it is the best 2010 we have. It's got some scratches and a couple dents, but every one was earned honestly.
Mike, that looks really good. I need to make time to detail my '10. I bought it in March and with the weather that we have been having this spring, time on the weekend has been not been there. Hopefully some time soon I can get at it.
The pictures actually dont do it justice. In the first pic you can see the reflection of a building. That building is several hundred yards away and there is a chain link fence In between. The white doors are for the plow trucks so they are about 12ft wide and 16ft tall.
The bumpers and wheels haven't held up as well, though..... Both are getting rusty.
There is a guy in my volunteer fire department that also has a '10 XL with those wheels and his are also rusty. I think that there are just enough nooks and crannies in the wheels to hold salt during the winter. I think that I am going to be replacing my aluminum wheels with some painted aftermarkets due to the clear on the wheels failing and there are oxidized/pitted.
Be careful which wheels you get. look for long term reviews if you can find them. I've got some aftermarket painted and clear-coated wheels on our Subaru and they aren't holding up as well as factory wheels. the clear coat on them look terrible despite never seeing winter, while the factory wheels still look pretty decent even though they are the winter wheels.
if you want to do the work you could make those factory wheels shine like chrome. strip them down with aircraft stripper and sand/polish them. takes about 2 hours per wheel, but they will shine better than you'd ever imagine. you'd be surprised what you can polish out of a set of aluminum wheels. alternatively, you could strip them and just re-clear them far cheaper than a set of aftermarket.
if you were closer, I'd make you an offer on your wheels I could clean them up and throw them on the work truck and really make people around here mad
I finally got to use my 2013 like it was a truck this last weekend.
It rained the next couple of day's, and really needs a bath now but we have more rain heading here later this week. So, what the use.

I still have time to think things over with the wheels and look at options. If I end replacing them, it will not be until the tires need to be replaced, which maybe next summer/fall.
