You can post pictures, you just can't post them directly from you computer to the forum unless you're a paying member. You can go to your album and they is a URL code for the image. It should start with . Copy and past it into your post.

I got the picture here but it was really small so I deleted it. Please look in my album, They're of a good size there. Thanks, I'll try again later. If you click on the pic it will display larger.

Thanks guys, not too many would go the extra mile for someone anymore. I measured my glass just like timboy and horizontle I have 17-5/8" but vertically I have 13 9/16" . I installed my rubber into the opening and mesured with two steel rules inside the groove verticle and inside the groove horizontle. The rubbers groove is a 1/4" smaller than the the glass. I know that the rubber will give some but 1/4" is too much. Maybe it's the rubber that's not right. I baught that from Dennis Carpenter. I have been blaming the glass guy maybe its the rubber guy, and maybe its just me. Thanks I will continue on, I hope the windshield and door glass is more cooperative.

I know I'm waaaay late but... the glass should be .25 inch smaller than the opening. Thinner lip to the outside and unlike most gasket set windows, the unit (glass with gasket on ) is installed from the outside of door. In other words, the rope is pulled from outside the door while glass is held into opening from inside door

teched you gotta tell us how you mounted the '48-50 hood on that '52 front clip. It must have taken a little fab work to make that work.

As for the hood to fender fit was a bit of a "sex change" operation. The 52 F-4 fenders that you see in my signature picture had the female catch removed and the male part from the 48' added, not that hard really. The hood is stock except I had to cut off the secondary catch and make it bend back a little further to catch the inside lip of the apron. Pretty easy really. The hard part was making the F-4 Fender wheel wells shrink down to a F-1. That required some heavy duty fabrication. The whole truck was shot so to bring this far has been a major undertaking. I do not suggest it for the faint of heart!!

Robertd123, I am not so sure about that. According to the glass that timboy removed and measured it is still larger than the inner flange, which kinda makes sence to me. If it was a 1/4 smaller I think it would just push through with the slightest of pressure from the outside. Not that I'm saying your wrong but I may not be understanding what you are describing.

Yeah, I always thought there might be a market for a panel kit to shrink the F-2 and up fender wheel openings to F-1s. The larger fenders aren't too easy to find but a lot easier to find than useable F-1s.

If I had one of each fender to use as a prototype, I don't think it would be too difficut to come up with the tooling to produce such a panel. Could also be used as a patch panel.
Anyone close enough to me have the fenders to use in exchange for a set of panels?

Thought some of you guys may want to see the "Saga". Posted from when I bought it in October 2010 till pretty recent. I have the dash componet installed. Radio w/8track(I'm not kidding, I had it so I used it). Yes kids 8-track. It was a cassete tape that you could select the song you wanted. Hi-tech in 1975. Past weekend got all the lights working. New 12 volt Hallogen head lights. I put the Signal lights back on the top of the fender just to remind me where that clip came from.(F-4 Plus the ones below the head lights where in bad shape. Have to order the Vent window seals, Glove box liner and 1 glass tail light since I dropped the original. I am getting real close. I replaced the front axle with one that had the King pins and tierod ends replaced before he decided to go indpendent suspension. Got a real good deal on it. Basically traded a lawn tractor for it. So any one need a King pin Set I will sell it cheap, don't think I will be using it. I am itchin to take it out. I would like to fabricate a new gas tank. I am using a 10 Gallon metal boat tank strapped underneath it. It works but i could use more range especially with that thristy 360. I would also like to fabricate some sort of interior paneling in the panel area. I would like wood, but I haven't figured out how to get it to bend to the upper radius. Anyway. I appreciate all the help that has been provided from all of you. I could not have done it without you guys especially bobj49f2 and 51panelman. And timboy you're pretty cool for taking the time to take that window out and measuring for me. My hats off to you all.
