Obviously not critical but drives me nuts (wife says that is a short ride )
On my '12 when you turn the key to start the truck in plays that three tone "jingle' a few times. (have sync/nav)
Can that be turned off. Better yet it would be cool if you could change it to like the first part of "Back in Black" (Even though the truck is red).............
Is this the three tone one that sort of plays "hey-dumb-***" "hey-dumb-***" "hey-dumb-***" "hey-dumb-***" at you? Or, when the parking brake is engaged, more of a "hey-dumb-***!!" "hey-dumb-***!!" "hey-dumb-***!!" ?
I call it the do-da-do tone.
If you close all doors and lock the driver seat belt before inserting/turning the key, it will not alert you.
Then pull the park brake before shifting out of park to prevent that alert.
Does the seatbelt chime disable procedure outlined in the manual disable the initial seatbelt warning chime? That's what we're talking about aren't we?

That process only disables the ding (it's a different tone) if your seatbelt isn't locked while in a gear other than [P].
This does not disable the chime when turning the key to on and seat belt unlocked.
That's how my truck behaves at least.
I do have the seatbelt ding disabled.
The dings don't bother me. I have disabled the seat belt ding and the door open/key in ding. So all I have left is the key on/door open ding.
I do agree with jack though in that with the tech of today there are simple ways we should be able to customize many aspects of our vehicles without interfering with dot regs. Dings are one, permanent back up sensor disable, and many others.
