Another spring question

Do these springs look right for 53 f100? They look different from any others that I have seen. Mainly the one short thick one in the middle. Also, when counting the leafs for removal is number one the small one the bottom?

I have never seen a leaf spring like that. I would say someone modified that middle leaf. I could be wrong but it looks unsafe to me.

Looks like a farmer mod to me. It's likely that two leafs broke and were replaced with a metal bar in the center. The third leaf spring from the bottom also appears to be broken at the end.

Agree with the previous posters - definitely broken and ready for replacement.

I just pulled the rear springs off my 56, they were mismatched and one side has a broken leaf, so I'm buying new springs.

I have one good side that will work on your truck- if you're in CA, PM me. Joe
