I should be getting my 2008+ tailgate this Friday.. I was looking on Google and seen a couple pics of people with the vinyl "SUPER DUTY" decal inserts that fill in the letters at the bottom of the tailgate. I have a dark gray truck, and I was thinking if I get these letters in matte black it would look really good, since the truck has so much black trim on it..
But all I seen is just pictures, can anyone that has these give me some input, do they look nice in person or do they look cheesy? The only reason I ask is because I have seen similar things on Mustang bumpers before and in person it looked kinda cheesy.
Got em from ebay. Good buy and easy install if you use soapy water. Good final look too. Not cheap looking or tacky. slickyamaha has a black set on his SD look his up.
Subscribing…I'd like to see some good pics too. That recessed lettering is just begging for a treatment and I like the idea of something black instead of the chrome inserts I've seen.
I used silver lettering to go with my silver pinstripe. My first choice was what they called Ford blue, but when I got it wasn't even close to Ford blue. No pics right now - tailgate is still off for winter - should have it back on this weekend.
