No sweat on the post hijack. It allows for more information(experiences) and different view points. I stopped by autozone on the way home from work, thats where I got the thermostat. The guy I talk 6.0 w/there said he had an issue with the same thermostat I purchased from his store. He wasn't working the day I picked it up. Im going to swap the sensors Friday after work and reverse flush the oil cooler. I have plenty of coolant in the garage. Does anyone know what readings I should be getting when reading resistance across the new sensors? Im currently reading 27.5 ohms at room temp. and was going to check the old ones after they sit in the house overnight. Just to compare the readings, I might have good sensors and need to change the t-stat again. I have a couple of months to make sure everything is the best it can be. Im moving from NW Florida to Las Vegas this summer and towing the wife's car behind us. Just want to make sure truck is good to go! Also, the EGR cooler was fine w/ great flow. I just replaced the gaskets when I done all of this work. Once again, thanks for all the ideas and view points!

Yea, I know how vegas gets. I used to be stationed at Hill AFB and I have been to Nellis several times preparing for deployments. Now Nellis is my next permanent assignment. I say permanent but, this is my fifth base in 8 years!

So how is your temps now? Are they still spreaded on highway after a while or does your EOT still have 18 spread?

I just finished flushing the system again. I ran some simple green thru it for about 30 min. @ normal temps and flushed the system for about 2 hrs. w/truck running. I drain from the block and lower radiator hose and also have a setup where I run hot water from my hot water heater. The 2 week old coolant still looks good and I didn't get any contaminents from the flushing. Im gonna have to stop by my local dealership on the way home tommorow and get another t-stat. The one I have I got from autozone and have heard not only from a couple of 6.0 owners who work there but, from a couple of guys at work and all had problems w/ the autozone t-stat in theirs. I have two new sensors and will change them this weekend and let you guys know something. Oh yeah, I was still getting 18-25* deltas today even after the flush! Wished I hadn't thrown away the old t-stat now. My ECT will drop to 184-186 while my EOT will climb to 202-204 and even up to 215 but, my ECT is at 190. Im gonna change my name to "frustrated in Florida"

Maybe the oil cooler got some junk that you just cannot remove. Good luck, keep us informed. I got some Zerex rad cleaner but the more I think it over, the more I think I will only clean the radiator in a close loop so I do not screw up with the oil cooler.
I will try the 12 volt pump and connect the top and bottom rad outlet through a strainer. I bought a 20/80 mesh strainer from Tractor Supply and I will get this in line with my rad and pump and cycle the old thing in a closed loop so stuff that get out of the rad will not go back in. If it works I MIGHT???? try a backflush of the oil cooler and engine, maybe but really not sure if I should go there.

Just picked up a motorcraft t-stat and some vc-9 on the way home. Gonna do a reverse flush of the oil cooler, vc-9 and flush, and reverse flush the oil cooler again first thing in the morning. Then change both sensors and t-stat. I will probably post again on Sunday after driving a couple of times and hopefully have good news!

Changed the t-stat and both the ECT & EOT sensors. Then backflushed the oil cooler. Now everything seems to be fine. Its 85* here and I took the truck down the interstate for approx. 25 mi. one way and then back. I was going 70 mph one way and 75 mph on the way back. The worst it got was uphill @ 75 mph my ECT-194 & EOT-203. One thing I noticed when changing the sensors, was that the ECT sensor was corroded. Will post pictures when camera battery charges but, all is good for now. Thanks to all who offered advice and the bullet proof stuff is alittle out of my price range right now but, it looks like a great setup.

Yea, the sensor wasn't helping things and maybe that autozone t-stat. I think I had a couple of problems including partially clogged new oil cooler. I will have to watch it and make sure those numbers don't start climbing back up.

That is good news. The delta you have is now what I see also since I did the backflush. I will do more backflush when back home.
