another ranger in the sack

I bought a 2000 ranger 2wd 2.5 and a 5speed 150k miles. Picking it up tomorow. I'm very familar with the 2.3 as i've had 3 with over 350k miles on each one but this 2.5 is new to me.

Is there any "mods" or updates or something that should be looked at when i get it? I know my around a vehicle so i don't have any problem workin on them. Just kinda want to know what to watch out for.

And what kinda power do these little guys make?

ok after some further investigation i gather that the 2.5 is just a 2.3 with a bigger stroke correct?

so i'm assuming that a 5 speed from a 94 and 98 will bolt right up?

Same-ish

Yes, the 2.5 is the larger Lima engine. From what I've read, it might be a little more desirable than the 2.3 Lima engine, but essentially the same thing. I'm not sure on the tranny, but I believe you are right: it'll bolt up.
