Best starter option..
There's been talk of gear reduction starters,6.0 starters,stockers,what's the best choice.I'll prolly buy from Oreillys cause I have a connection there,and lifetime warranty..thanks....Phil

If you have a oem on there now I'd look into having it rebuilt by a reputable shop, hear quite a few horror stories about the box store starters

There are no direct drive starters for the 7.3. That would be huge! They are either plgr planetary gear reduction Or osgr offset gear reduction. I have a Ford reman plgr and it Works great. Had a DB osgr and it was a piece of junk.

Can't agree more, rebuild Phil.. Ask around for a good shop. As with our altenators, I'm sure our stock starters are top of the line as in quality. (SpringerPop comes to mind). My truck has almost 180,000 and its still cranking, mines getting rebuilt when its time.
