Chrome or Blackout?

Need some opinions...

Just wondering who likes the chrome grille/bumper look or if they would prefer a blacked out look. My 1992 F150 was originally all chrome, but i blacked most of the chrome out to see how it looked. I'm still on the fence and I will post before and after pictures as soon as I can! What are everyones opinions?

Unless you like repainting rock chips all the time, I say chrome.

Depends on the color scheme. It can look pretty nice but chrome can look really sharp too or painted to match the rest of the body. You can also mix where you have the very front surface chrome and inside all the slots painted.

black out is where i go.. repainting my truck soon.. front and rear bumpers/rims are all blacked out.. going to paint the truck with truck bed liner.. just need to either fix a few things in the bed or put up the 200$ for the junkyard bed.. stupid trucks are horrible for rust in the fenders=[

SIDE NOTE
this is coming from a man who can't stand chrome.. so my opinion is pretty bias..

chrome just gets damaged and you can really see it.. i bought my truck to be a truck and can't keep it pretty all the time.. chrome gets scratched and dented and it stands out..

I like the blacked out look personally, but I hate rust worse and there is nothing on this planet more durable that this vintage Ford chrome front bumpers, you can still find them without a single blemish in junkyards while the truck it's attached to is nearly completely disintegrated. And if you grind down a chrome bumper enough to make paint stick to it reasonably well rust won't be far behind so you'll be repeating the whole process every year or so, if you don't grind the bumper paint will just flake off.

What kind of paint did you use? I'm looking to do the same when I paint my '92 black this summer.

I think they both look good, maybe the black looks a bit better. I think it might be better yet if you put the bug deflector back on. Black out as much as you can.

I don't like chrome but it looked much better than the black to me.

Plastidip it. If you like it good. If not it peels off like a latex glove.
