Worth it?

I am considering swapping my c6 for the zf5. For those of you who have done it, is it worth it?

Thanks, Kyle

That's kind of a personal preference thing. I generally prefer auto's myself. Makes it easier to grab a bight to eat for the road or whatever, as long as it's not texting. The 5-speed will get you an increase in mileage and the enjoyment of banging gears. It depends on the intended use of the truck, your driving style, and mostly just what you like. I don't really see a huge downside to swapping but the C6 is a strong tranny so I don't see a major advantage either.

I want it for cruising mainly, so the ability to do at least 65-70 freeway without redlining the engine. Also because my current setup is giving me issues.

Thanks, Kyle

Well the ZF5 would certainly be better for that be better for that.

Another thing to think about is there are plenty of trucks out there with 5-speeds in them already so you might just be better off to sell your truck and buy another, assuming you're not opposed to selling it for whatever reason.

Do a search. It's a little more work than you think. In the end, it all depends what you want to use the truck for.

I realize there is work, i'm just wondering for those of you who have done it, is it worth the work in doing so.
