2008 Escape Sputtering When Trying to Start
My 2008 Escape wouldn't immediately start yesterday. It turned over and sputtered several times so I turned the key off. After three or four tries it finally started and didn't give me any problems the rest of the day. This morning, I tested it and it started fine. Then, when I went to leave for work it sputtered again and wouldn't start. I turned the key off and back on, letting the fuel pump charge. It started just fine after that. Does this sound like a fuel pump, fuel filter, or some other problem? The fuel pump sounds fine and the problem doesn't seem to happen every time. It has 47,000 miles on it. Thanks!
