Does anyone know a place to get this filler panel or trim piece (not even sure what to call it)? It has went AWOL on my truck.

I've got my feelers out for an 2008-12 tailgate. When I find one its sure to need paint, I plan to take my paint to match mirror covers in also (and switch to the yellow turn signal lenses) so it would be a great time to find on of these whatchamacallits and get it painted also. I'm finding everything but this on the net.

You may have seen this but see if the part #s listed will get you going in the right direction...

Had the leaking valve stem replaced on the tire that was flat on Sunday. 25 bucks for a metal valve stem and a full air change in that tire, now that is a great deal, LOL.

So, where did you get the Alternator from? Price?

I'm going to be upgrading before our year trip around the U.S. this next spring. Need more power!

By the way, the truck will be charging the batteries in my 5th wheel. Am installing 4 6v batteries to power the trailer.

Reps to WatsonR. He recomended this alternator from advance auto parts. It's a new 140 amp from a 2005 truck. Bolts right in. He also recomended doing the wire upgrade which I also did today.
Here is a pic. It was pretty easy and already seems to have better output! Stays at 13.9-14.4 through the OBDII port.
Before the upgrade I never saw anything over 14.

Coolant flush. I didn't do a chem flush because I didn't want to trash the oil cooler just yet. I used a little cascade. I figured that was a happy medium between VC-9 and straight water. I know the cascade trick is typically for oil fouled systems, but I figured it wouldn't hurt.

The PO had the green stuff in it and it was relatively clean. During the rinse and dumps I caught as much as I could and it was always clean.

My ECT fluctuated between 180* and 194* since I got the truck..that includes long stretches of flat road on I-79 and I-80. It's hard to get a true coolant/oil delta when it does that. Best I could tell, I was averaging 14-16*. Sometimes as low as 12* and sometimes as high as 20*

So, I also changed out the t'stat with a Mishimoto 200*. Now its rock solid at 200-202*. My delta is 10*. I am happy camper for now. The oil cooler might be in better condition than I thought.

Evan, you might as well do the hot cable from passenger battery to the drivers side.

Sweet!

The money saved at Advance went to the cables. Great upgrade, now tell us how much Napa charged to do the cables?

Don't forget the cable from drivers side frame to block, that's probably the most important one. Attach it to the same place as the drivers side negative ground and clean the frame and connector good.

Give those cables a little protection from chafing against the A/C piping. Small piece of hose split down the center and secured with a tie wrap and a little electrical tape.
