Drop a new engine in 04 F350' dully

Needed a engine for my truck when I got one I got a little carry away =D Got my new engine wasn't happy with the color.
All bulletproof APR studs and upgraded EGR cooler and a bunch of other stuff on it

My five year really wanted to help lol
At this point I'm working on the engine harness I had to take the whole thing apart and be very thorough with my labeling and heat shrink all the exposed wires took me about 2 days of work

Man that sucked but it's in. The trick is getting the exhaust pipe up out of your way. What hold me up at the very end

Has anyone had luck with a starter from O'Reillys, autozone, or Advanced? I don't think napa is open on Sundays.

Tried to take a step forward and fell back a few.

New starter cable

For some reason the starter nut wouldn't tighten.......

I didn't even begin to torque it down and ran into this problem. The stud striped out.

I left a window down so I had to finish the job and hook the batteries up.

They are hard to find, but you might see about a solenoid.
Worth a try.

I appreciate the offer per4mance. I'd hate to bug someone for a ride to work Monday so I'll need one asap. I think advanced here has them in stock.

Sean I checked for a solenoid at O'Reillys and advanced. It's not showing they offer that. I'll double check in the morning though. Would definitely rather go that route if the starters are serviceable. Thanks man.

I finally finished the bracket for the rear shocks in the Ex. Got the drivers side on with no trouble. The passenger side has become a nightmare. First off the exhaust is in the way. No biggie on that. The idiot that put the shocks on last must have broken the clip nut up top and used a bolt and nut. Make a long story short, the shock has slipped the rubber and I can get anything on the top of the bolt to grab it so it just spins. I'm gonna try a Dremel with a cut off wheel. It's gonna be a long morning........ coffee first thou.

This is what I made work. These little guys are made of some tuff stuff

I wore out 6 drill bits and 2 cutting wheels but this is the finished product. My Ex suspention is now complete with a sway bar.

Nice work!!!

I do not recommend carquest starters. They are prices ok but the way this starter sounds, I'll be lucky to get a year out of it. $14 bucks for my core so I'll keep it and try to find a solenoid for it.

My advise to you is get a 6.4 starter and make sure all the nuts and such are torqued to spec. Don't ask me how I know.

My Oreilly's starter has had to be warranty replaced once because the bendix would not engage the flywheel properly, otherwise it has been good.

I did online cupon codes to ge quite alot off on a starter. It works. Occasionally it dosent engage the fly wheel though. Might happen 1 time in maybe a 2wk span or less. Was a pita to swap the starter with the truck next to a curb. When it stops working or gets worse ill swap it again. It does spin like a 6.4 starter if that means anything to yall. Much faster then the stock one did
