06 F-350 with the 6.0 fuel gauge goes to full when empty and empty when full tried everything i could think of it has been doing it since october when the dealer put a new sending unit in because of check engine light for a fuel data error. i tried swapping the wires but it still does the same thing any ideas.
Do you know how long I've looked for THAT miracle fuel economy booster? That must be one of those TOP SECRET devices the guvment has been hiding from us...
The clue is in your post.... "doing it since new sending unit was put in..."
There is something amiss with the sending unit.
If these sending units are like they used to was, they are very simple, just a variable resistor. And if somehow installed upside down, the resistance changes would go up when it should go down, and vice versa. Reversing wires wouldn't fix that.
That or the wrong sending unit... but I was thinking they all used the same protocol.
Call the dealer who installed it. Hopefull they should be knowledgable enough to figure it out instantly.
i bought it in october they put the new sender in before i bought it because the other one was giving a fuel data error so i am not sure if it was going backwards for the first owner or not
