changing my mind
changing my mind
I think I've heard enough about why NOT to convert EFI to Carb to change my mind. At least for now. The main reason I wanted to convert is because when the PO swapped the motor they left a bunch of stuff disconnected. I've got vacuum lines that aren't connected to anything, hoses that don't go anywhere, it's a mess. Now, if I'm going to keep the EFI where do I begin. The PO replaced the 89 351w with a 93 351w. I don't know what the differences are but I want to get it figured out. I don't have to pass emissions. What can I disconnect or get rid of without making MPG or performance worse? How can I improve performance and/or MPG from stock without spending a bunch of $? Will the Haynes book help? I'm sorry too many questions. I'm just ready to git'r'done. The good news, I've still got the spare 86 351w to build right while I look for something to drop it into. Hope not to be a pain to you all. Thanks in advance for your help.
What problems does the truck currently have?
You might look up some of the EFI swaps into older and classic vehicles like Mustangs etc, maybe even the older trucks sections on here.
This site has alot of useful information.

A manual is a good place to get started. Then a junkyard if you need other vacuum harnesses (that will help keep the price down). Plus you can look at it layout. These should help you decide to keep it or just take the 93 from the junkyard.
