haha I didn't even know it was there. there is another toggle switch down by the floor that I though he was talking about but I have no idea what it does so I was trying to figure out what it was for. But its all good now. thanks guys! My guess is the switch is plow related, maybe the PO used to have flashers.

If the switch on the floor is bad you will not have any power to the lights. It sounds to me like your switch could be only working on high beams. Also the wires that connect to the switch tend to corrode as they are on the floor...
lol. why didn't I find this thread yesterday.
Just replaced headlamp switch and headlamp switch connector for nothing.
