I need your expertise, please. I need the part number or at least the proper name for the vacuum motor on the air cleaner snorkel that controls the flapper in the snorkel, switching from manifold heated air to cold air.
Mine seems to be bad as applying manifold vacuum to it causes no change in position from "open to cold air". This is the default position if I understand correctly.
Vehicle is a 1984 F-150 4X4 with 351w 2 barrel carb.
To test the flapper motor, connect a piece of vacuum hose to the vacuum motor. Suck on the hose while looking inside the snorkel where the flapper door is. If it is working correctly, the flapper door should close off the air source from the front of the snorkel and open up the trap door at the bottom of the snorkel.
There are 38 NOS out there, and they sell them at Napa Auto Parts etc.

How/where did'ja come up with these part numbers? I know you didn't get them from basic number 9D612 in the parts catalog, cuz if you had looked, you woulda discovered...there is no such thing!
The only way to get the part number is from the Calibration Code parts lists. First, you gotta look up the code, then go to the parts list. Simple right?
Wrong. There is more than one parts list for the OP's truck...since he didn't mention the trans type.
And, I'm assuming the truck was not sold new in Canada, CA, or has a Hi Altitude carb, because that adds even more parts lists.

Nope not simple at all. In fact I think it sucks. As for the parts numbers I listed, they were suggestions of the first two that came up. Why I put ETC... afterwards.
