Well,,, After all of the obvious and necessary parts have been replaced such as fuel pump & filter, plugs & oil/filter change, gas line cut-off valve, gas lines, timing & dwell set she still wasn't running as it should. I waffled about either rebuilding the carb or just buying an already rebuilt one. No one had a rebuild kit, so I checked with Rockauto.com and they had an Autolite 1100 rebuilt one in stock for $119 (final cost) after I send my core back. My Ole '64 223 fired right up and revs ups with no choke whatsoever!!! Hooray, the smell of victory!! I was going to slap my Farm Use tags on her this morning and take her out for our first date- to the country store for a cup of coffee. I woke up early to get out to the shop and feed the woodstove, fire up my Ole '64 dubbed "White Trash", mainly for what her job will be for now - (far too many white Glad trash bags to the dump), until funds allow me to restore her to a cool Slick, and dang if it isn't snowing!!! Are you kidding me???? Aahhh! Oh well, maybe tomorrow then it's back to the rear end gear oil change, weld the exhaust pipe in one area, etc. Then a road trip (in the dually!) to see one of our members to get a trans. to rebuild for a solid unit replacement.
