Your right. I called him and it is 250 a rim $1000 a set plus shipping. That is a little to steep for me. I shouldn't let a pair of Ford innie eight lugs slip by last year for $75 a piece.
Sorry to post then disappear. As you found out he wants $250.00 per wheel + shipping.
On the subject of opening up the centers a little bit, my 19.5's came off of my 1969 F-250 4x4 and I have since put them on my 1988 F-250 which required me to have the center hub potion of the wheel machined to fit over the later sytle larger hubs. My '69 had a closed knuckle Dana 44 and my '88 has a Dana 50 TTB which has larger hubs. I have not experienced any issues to date and have put lots of miles on them both on & off-road. I will see if I can post a picture of them on my '88.
Personally, unless completely restored -- meaning no imperfections and flawless paint, I think that $250 for most 19.5" is extremely high. The last KH 19.5" SRW (60s vintage, good condition) that I purchased cost me $50 five years ago. And that is the most that I have ever paid for one of these (purchased 12 in the last decade). Some NOS 19.5" rims (VGC) showed up on Ebay a few years back and even those were only $95.00 each.
Stu's right, it will definitely take some leg-work to find some at a reasonable price. Given, there were a few different styles available depending on manufacturer and year. But if you aren't in a hurry you can do much better than $250/wheel.
Try posting a local Craigslist wanted ad. You're likely to save a bundle on shipping and the seller might even agree to allowing you to check for trueness before committing to buying. And be prepared to look at a few derelict/vintage Dodges and GMs.
Thanks. There is no way I am paying 250 a wheel. I have been posting in Craig's list for about a year. I found some in California last year for 75 apiece which I thought was too much at the time especially since I had just payed 20 apiece for two 19.5 six lug rims. I have been looking for all brands. I found a few sets plus spare tires on a couple of old Chevy bread trucks but they will not sell any.

It has been my experience that those six-lug 19.5" one ton singles are much more difficult to find. Despite fewer applications, $20 per sounds like an exceptional buy if the wheel will take a tire. You might want to watch the pre-'69 Binder ads if you're looking for those.

About $100 each is about right on ebay and don't forget extra for shipping. You'll be competing with people doing high end restorations and they know an original set of 19.5's will make a big statement on authenticity (especially on 4X4's) when going for a "best of show" stock trophie. 16" bump wheels won't fool the smarter judges.
