Knee high boots needed

Ran into a kid the other day that I know, asked if I had any spark plugs blow out of the V10. He went on to say his dad's 02 blew one out, plugs were never change and it had 120,000 miles on it. Cost his dad $600.00 to get r done. The kid supposedly went to tech school to be a mechanic, so I asked why he didn't do it. He didn't really give me a good answer. Then went on to tell me that the truck was chipped and was putting out an extra 100 hp.
I didn't say much, but was thinking, wow what a bull ****ter. Just saying. lol

Hmmmmm maybe its just that enthusiasm we all had as a youth, whether our fathers or vehicles in general? I know I' talked a lot of BS----wanted to look half way as smart as the adults around me. I did succeed in that--but made it about 1/10th of that anyway!

Besides without hyperbole what good is casual conversation anyway?

Did you get the brand of that chip BTW?

I did my share of BS'ing in my youth as well. I often hope none of my buddies actually remember what I said back then. I think it's just human nature, because my 11 year old son does it at times. I hope to keep history from repeating itself by gently but firmly letting him know that it's OK to say you don't know something, but it's never OK to just make stuff up to sound like you know something. But then again, right afterwards I tell him, "don't tell your Mother about the burnout we just did in her Mustang" so I guess I'm teaching him to lie when it benefits me. I probably won't get any "Parent of the Year" awards anytime soon...

I remember parents just smirking at my comments like that when I was growing up. Now I'm the one smirking. Just part of the "cycle of life".

Wanna bet at time passes he'll see that more as the two of you having fun together, keeping the secret just part of the guy code, him loving that time?

Parents of the Year might win awards but did their kids have any fun? No it might not be 100% right to hide something innocent like a burnout in Mom's 'Stang but the upsides have to out distance anything else......especially you teaching him its okay admitting he doesn't know something.

I say good on ya-----burnouts and all!

Don't ya know when the vendors say that it will add "up to" 15hp for an intake and the exhaust will add "up to" 35hp and the tune will add "up to" 50hp that the young eyes skip right over the UP TO and it reads... WILL ADD, so therefore 100hp added. Sheesh, it is simple math. Us old timers can't add LOL

If I add this $10 product to my Excursion then I will get 20 mpg with 65 more hp and torque.
