F150 Bed DIY Coating

Would like to remove the plastic(?) bed liner in my new to me 91 F150 and install one of the coatings. Anyone have experience w/Dupli-Color brand? Or recommendation on other brand?

Thanks

Don

i personally have not used the duplicolor, i have other guys who have attempted to and say its very watery. i personally have usedthe hurculiner , it holds up well, if you hit it with something like a corner of a peice of metal ,it will peel, theres 2 others out there, that i know of, the rustoleum brand stuff , which i bought this round. i can give you that answer in a week , the other product that i know of is called bed armor , also made by duplicolor, short of a proffesional spray in (400) i think those are your options. some of the other guys will post up too i am sure

I, too, have used Herculiner. I was satisfied with the results.

Preparation is the key to a good, long lasting application. Be very fastidious before you lay down the material.

Good luck.

Dont waist your time with the Single stage cheap(CRAP) bedliners. I.E. Hurculiner, Duplicolor or the like. I have used BOTH and they are an INFERIOR product if you use your truck. If you dont use your truck, then why even bother putting anything in

You need at least a 2 part liner(like the ones you pay to get sprayed in) Rhino, Line-X, Reflex, Scorpion

I personally LOVE Al's Liner. DIY Truck Bed Liners! BTW AL's IS Scorpion Liner, but in smaller DIY quanitys. It is a 4 part mixture that can be brushed/roller/spayed. I sprayed it in my applications and it turned out like Line-X. Here is my results https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...iner-done.html

There are other brands out there but I have no experience with them. Raptor and Gator are 2 that come to mind.

i used U-Pol Raptor bed liner (which is a two stage compound) after reading alot of good reviews. it looks nice, but doesn't hold up to my kinda usage... its quite thin compared to rhino line or line-x only 1/16 of an inch IF that. though on the bright side when i do tear \it up i just spray on a little rubberized undercoating and it fixes right up

the U-pol was free for me kinda, i traded some work, and my friend gave me the kit he had laying around

i think most of the DIY wont hold up to real usage. its all pretty thin unless you want to spend ungodly amounts of money - which at that point you might as well just line-x or rhino line- that stuff is usually 1/2 centimeter thick or more

Herculiner all the way. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine. I even bought an extra small quart to fill in any spots that were opened up from use. 1.5 yrs later and haven't had to use it. And I USE it, have 1 ton of brick and mortar in the back right now!
