SRP1

After a long wait I received a email from Stealth saying they were processing my order. So to speed things up I gave them a call to see if I could pick up the pump.I talked to Gary and he said sure stop by I'll have it ready. When I got there Gary was nice enough to Put the pump together in front of me.As he assemble the pump he showed me the changes they had made.
Let me tell you there is nothing stock at all about this pump. All internals have been modified. It still remains a 17* pump but they remove all the factory flaws. All housing ports are resized from 6an to 8an for better thread surface. The oil passages are drilled out for better flow. The swash plate is machined and installed with a bearing set up instead of the factory bushing. It also has a key way cut in it so it can be locked in place. That way the swash plate can never spin inside the housing. The pistons are bigger to make and maintain more oil pressure.

In the first two pics you can see the piston size difference. The one on the right is the SRP1 piston, and the one on the left is the factory one out of my modded 17* pump.

The third pic shows the bore of the cylinder size difference.

The forth pic shows the 360* retaining clip instead of the factory snap ring. This will keep the back plate from blowing out.

The last pic shows how big the new fittings are.

Guys this thing is a big pump in a stock package.I have test drove my truck and the difference is unreal,of how fast it starts, how quite it made the injectors and it pulls all the way through the RPM range.

Before you ask no I didn't data log yet ran out of time today. But that is coming soon!

Ever wonder what is modded on a modded 17* pump!

One brass bushing to restrict oil. First pic

He pings the front seal.Second pic

Then puts a LOCK WASHER in the relief valve. Third pic.

All internals are factory!

I asked to see the difference when my pump was being put together.

Just trying to help educate!
I think it was well worth the $$$.

Joe! Heres what you need.

Thats stock cylinder on the left and a Stage 2 on the right. Just in case you need a little more oil.

So if the modded 17* gets a lock washer as a shim... Does the T-500 get two? or do we get upgraded to a solid shim at that point?

Right here! See the 360* lock ring that holds in the back plate. The stock plate and snap ring were blowing out on some of the first SRP1.So they corrected the problem by making a new plate and machining the housing to except the 360* retainer ring.

Congrats on the new hpop, Brad! Looks like it will give many years of good service. My Stealth Stage 1 has been trouble free for 2 1/2 yrs, except for replacing the o-rings in the STC fittings for the hpo lines. I replaced the o-rings with a better quality from Bob @ dieselorings.com.
