I bought the 12 volt windshield wiper conversion kit from MAC'sAuto. All it said was it would not fit with the original radio. No problem since mine doesn't have the radio. However, it does have 2 support braces under the dash that apparently must come out. It also appears that the vent and open/close handle under the dash are also in the way. Has anyone installed the kit from Mac's? I'd appreciate some guidance on what needs to be done as the vent mechanism rides on the 2 support braces to operate properly.
I think I have the same kit, but have not tried to install it yet. Since the vents seem to always leak, I was just going to blank mine off. I will be putting AC in mine so I didn't think it would be a big deal to delete the vent. I think I have seen other options for 12V wipers but can't think of them at the moment.

Yeah, those support braces need to come out (they don't do anything anyway except give you a place to bolt an original radio to), but the vent handle should not be a problem. It's pretty tight up in there but I think you should be able to work around the vent handle....
