haven't been here in a while ,,life,, family,, work get's in the way and I look at your trucks sweet and shiny..or in progress with the amazing repairs and effort put into rough and abandoned projects ...and then there is my rust bucket ..the surprise addition to my insanity she runs and stops .and....sheds parts ..a bracket fell out from somewhere ...on the road ..pretty sure it's not something I ran over ..picked it up and getting back in the truck the drivers door hinge broke..stepped through the running board ... slammed the door shut and the window disappeared ...good news is I got a hood given to me to replace the bondo rust monster I have now..long way to ask ..do you ever wonder why you got your truck ??
I haven't even driven mine yet and have had lots of issues, mostly PO's. But I still love it and try and work on it every weekend and down days. Waiting to buy a new long block and tranny, then the drive shaft, wheels and tires, electric fan, the interior, the rest of the paint, and I might even try to find some good front fenders or even have to go with fiberglass ones. One of the PO's must have used a gallon of bondo and filled the seams of the two piece fenders. There is a lot of rust at the joint between the two parts and might not be repairable. And I have to decide what to do about the running boards - they were covered with aluminum diamond plate. I removed that and found another gallon of bondo.
amen brother panel man !!!!! right now it's not my truck as it's still in pieces . now that dain 52 customline well .............. we all love our addiction ken and we enjoy it including the times you really gotta think why and am i losing it ???????????????????
Ken, that truck sounds like its driving you crazy. pm me directions and i will buzz up there and get that thing out of your hair. jk at least yours runs and has brakes. i have two MH's and have yet to drive either one. and if i dont, i dont care. someday my son or a future son-in-law will drive them, or one of my daughters.....whatever. i did my part. i found them and i am gathering parts. i enjoy that just as much as i enjoy driving my 60!
I got my truck because my wife said "You can get that truck if you want it." And until she said that, I never really considered getting the truck. My son was going to buy it if he could easily turn it into a daily driver. He couldn't do that because it needed too much work.
I have the truck. I love the truck (not as much as I love my wife) and MAYBE I'll be able to drive it this year.
