I never say "Why did I get that truck". I sometimes think about the trucks that I didn't get and say "Why didn't I get that truck!"
Ha Ha!! Yeah I've done that!
"Ever wonder why..."
I was wondering that too when i started this thing. I have 14 cars, most of which are projects. Did I really need another?? No. But i liked it and the opportunity arose and I bit in! Annnnd trust me, Ken, the more I tore into this thing the more crap I found had to be fixed and the more money it costed to do it. The story of old cars..
Now that it's just about to the point of being on the road, I don't ask the why did I much anymore. Now I ask, when can I drive this thing already!?!
thank's guy's .. to add to my frustration I found a mercury panel truck ..the body looks great ..the plate is 1980 something..but it's older ..late 40s...I think ..I can't do body work when I tried to unbolt sumthing bolts shear or panels buckle ...and to see a good looking truck ..I wonder ..so thanks for helping ... I know I don't know why I do this ..try and make seance of resurrecting a 50 year old orphan ..that's why I check with you guy's ..now I remember it doesn't matter why .. just enjoy my time with her and take care of her for now..

If that panel truck Is a '46 or 47, I'd like to see it! And buy it!!
Ok you had a frustrating day, your truck was probably just the straw that broke the camels back. If you sold it Im sure that you would regret it afterwards. For me its tinkering with the truck that makes things come back into perspective. Not only will working on her get rid of of the little anoyances, but it will bring you much happyness. Im so sorry youve had a bad day.Let your truck be part of the solution, instead of part of the problem. Hang in there my friend.Tomorrow will be a new day.
not sure what year it is .. but it has the small hood . with a single cross bar grill with 3 vertical bars across ..sorry I can't get the pictures off my phone to show you ..I will swing by and ask ..
This is a truck I missed out on some short years back. This is the panel version I'm looking for. As smallello said: I never say "Why did I get that truck". I sometimes think about the trucks that I didn't get and say "Why didn't I get that truck!"
Ken - A few things have worked to ensure you'll have challenges with that old truck. First, with tons of "attaboys" from us enablers on this forum, you took on a real unusual truck. Your F-350 M-H is one of only a handful we know of. Second, you're actually driving it and dealing with the cantankerous old SOB on the fly without a hoard of spare parts and donor vehicles lined up ready to jump to service for the "team". I know that just finding some of the parts you've needed has been a challenge. At least what you've described this time sounds like standard stuff any old Ford could need. So hang in there, and we'll continue to enable....er, make that offer encouragement. Stu
My daughter picked it out and I am glad cause I have not had a project vehicle for years and I'm having a blast . Besides the winters are long and cold and I need some recreation .
why didn't i buy that truck or car ??????? i do / did and not all of 'em stick . there's gotta be a connection on a "personal" level or they don't stay . it may seem weird coming from mr. anti chebby , but i sold my 64 impala ss out of frustration when i was 28 , had it from the age of 15 , and i really regret letting it go . i know where it's at , and have thought about getting it back , but it is way too far gone to mess with and reall messed up . don't sell the mh if it has a connection with you ken . you will regret it ...........
Nothin to wonder about. Went for a cruise this morning early before any traffic..blasted down empty country roads, around sweeping curves....couldn't wipe that smile off my ugly mug
thanks for the encouragement ..just one of those days, glad there are other crazy truck owners .. that give me hope ..??"blasting down empty roads"??you must be one of them darksiders...the only blasting I can do is when the points play again ..blew off the muffler last week ...now I have a cherry bomb under there ..but with the gaskets gone at the manifold to pipe ...I can't hear the muffler ..lol !!time to go for a ride thanks again ... I needed the "enabler talk" thanks Stu..
i played in it as a kid. then my grandpa gave it to my bro he drove it everyday for years. when i was 17 we got it to the point of primer he was out drinking and rolled it so he built the motor got a new front end for it then it sat for almost 20 years. when he died i got it threw a crappy paint job on it and drove it for a year. when i found out i had cancer i decided to make it a show quality truck so if my wife needs to sell it she will be able to.
i went riding around after getting the dain clutch and throwout bearing to quite down somewhat , in the troublesome 52 customline today while the wife was out doing her thing . like previously mentioned , you couldn't wipr the smile off my face !!!!! it was so much fun to once again be wandering around , to nowhere in particular , in an old vehicle . kinda stood out in the sea of drab colored sheoplmobiles ! now as for blasting around not in the 53 or the 52 , but i will go out on the county and state roads and beat the living he!! outta the bird ! last time was a " race " against a officer 'o' the law i know . he thought he could outrun me on top end .... ooooopppppssss he had a 155 mph limiter .... bye bye dodge !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I usually work cheap and slowly on my projects until a day like that happens. I get frustrated and then spend all the money I have been saving (being cheap) and fix the problem for good!
