Accumulator line

Hey guys. I always found my answers in the FAQ but this time no success. I'm replacing my accumulator on my 97 f150 with 4.6. My problem is I can't get the line unhooked at the firewall. I removed the clip and have done everything but beat it with a hammer. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. This is an awesome site. Thanks Cliff

Did you use the springlock disconnect tool?

At the very least, spray a little WD-40 or PB Blaster in the joint, insert the disconnect tool while twisting, until it bottoms out. That should release the spring. If not, try pushing the tubing with the tool around it, in a bit more ( while twisting the tool again ), and try pulling the joint apart. It should come out by the, pretty easily.
