highboy driveshaft

i would like to know if the immediate driveshaft(the one that goes from trans to transfer case)... is the same in a 4-speed and the c-6 with the bolt on yolk. In short..wil the 4-speed driveshaft work if i want to put in the auto c6?

I am not entirely sure as long as the spline count is the same the yolks would not be a problem but what you are than likely to run into is the drveshaft length is most likely going to be different.

with the 4 speed driveshaft it is only 24 inches or so pushed all the way in... i just cant see that drivshaft getting any shorter

A c6 is longer than the 4 speed isn't it? That would make the driveshaft length shorter?

In other words I'm not sure but i believe a C6 is longer thank the 4 speed trans.
