Why do need a puller? I haven't had to use one. Are you having problems, or just preparing for their removal? IIRC, the dually doesn't use an oil bath seal that presses onto the spindle. Even then, working the hub side-to-side while pulling on it by hand is usually sufficient to get it off. We had no problems removing the hubs on Rick's (miller_feed) truck.
Thanks. Does it need to be marked so it goes back in the same way, or it doesn't matter? Did you torque spindle nut to 60 and back off 7 clicks? Lube bearings with gear oil and fill hub? I really appreciate your help!
It doesn't matter on the axle. I followed the torque procedure in my manual.
Torque nut to 70 ft-lbs, backed off 90* (1/4) turn, then retorque 15-20 ft-lbs. Check for end play in bearings. Should have a slight drag with no end play. Tighten axle flange bolts to 98 ft-lbs.
