This start on Saturday night on my way home from the N.E.S.T. get together. I pulled into a rest area to re-attach an intercooler pipe that popped out of the boot. When I went to start the truck up this is exactly what it was doing. It has been doing it ever since. It is like this when the truck is up to operating tempature. When it is cold it starts better.
This past July the ICP Sensor was replaced along with the LPOP.
Today I replaced the orings on the IPR and filled the HPOP with fresh oil.
What I'm seeing with AE:
ICP during cranking 2100 psi
ICP Duty Cycle up to 44%
Fuel pressure is steady at 68 PSI
What am I missing?
Click the picture it should take you to the video...
when i start mine my icp psi spikes to 3000+ psi.....that duty cycle looks a bit high and the pressure looks low to me....are you on stock split shots? might be time for an hpop.....
just re-read your post.....when its cold its better throws an oil related flag up for me.....since oil is thicker when its cold the hpop wont have to work as hard to build pressure but with it warmed up and thinned out a little it sounds like its having a rough time keeping up with the demand needed on startup......jmo.....
Yes still on stock injectors. Yeah figured it was leaning that way. Is there anyway to 100% rule out ICP or IPR sensors before I drop $450 on a new HPOP?
I don't want to spend $120 for and ICP sensor then $205 for and IPR then have to by the pump in the end. Like I said, I have AE but need to know what to look for to diagnose it....
Just an update, icp sensor can be ruled out. Air in fuel lines can be ruled out. The problem is constant now. Any time the truck is off for more than one minute the symptoms can be duplicated.
Thinking its still oil related so may go the IPR replacement and possibly a T500. Not sure, really want to spend the cash to finish my vegi conversion.....
The way it seems it looks to be oil related. IPR is one possibilty. My question is if the lpop is on its way out. Was it replaced with a melling? Once oil is warm it becomes thinner. Making in harder to pick up and compress. So if the lpop has some wear or is problematic it could be having a hard time to pick up the oil and move it to the hpop.
I know the lpop was replaced but sometimes that doesnt mean anything...no offense
