Mike, it was good. He told the uniform guy to take mine, so the last day of hell has arrived!!!! Happy Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!1
Ahhh, nothing like a little World's Dumbest before bed.
No matter what life brings, you can probably say that you will NEVER be in one of those videos.
Not quite yet.
I don't know how you do it, it would drive me bonkers to be at work with nothing to do. A day or 2 here and there is OK, but not day after day.
Try doing it for 6 months straight. One of the companies I worked for (Midwest Wireless) got bought by Alltel. During the transition, they kept saying they bought us because they wanted to "learn" (yeah right) from what we did to be so successful (15 year old company got purchased for $1.08 BILLION). We were all asked to stay on and given a health bonus for staying. I had to leave after the first bonus . I was so friggin bored. There was absolutely nothing to do and the managers were going home at noon on a regular basis. It was kinda fun for the first month or so, but got really old after that.
Evening to anyone that is still awake . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Worked on the plastic POS for a bit tonight. The valve cover was definitely warped. I ended up ordering bolts from the STEALER. I needed 11 or 12 bolts depending on which version of the valve cover I had. I HAD to buy 20 bolts because they only come in 10 packs. Way to go GM Let's design a car with 11 bolts and then sell them in 10 packs. Great.
Luckily, I think I am able to get by using my old bolts with the older style rubber grommets.
All of the reading I did said the older style had 11 bolts. Mine had 12. As I got to working on the car, the replacement valve cover had 13 bolt holes!! WTF? The head only has 12 bolt holes. Luckily, the other 12 line up perfectly. I figured this out after I putzed around getting the gasket just right.
The gasket is a whole 'nother story. Stupid design. Flat rubber gasket on a flat head. The original valve cover gasket was very gently pressed into a channel in the valve cover. The older style had to be set on the head first (no grooving to hold it in place) and then the valve cover set on top of it. I had to go around the whole thing and make sure the gasket didn't slide too much. Rubber is really good at keeping oil where it's supposed to be, but sucks at staying in place when sitting on top of a head that has a very thin layer of oil on it already.
The extra bolt holt, I'm going to fill in the hole in the grommet with some RTV tomorrow. I'll probably need to RTV it into the cover as well. For that I'll need to take it out to my Dad's and let it sit in his garage over the weekend to setup.
Here is the bolt pattern:
X
X X X O
X
The X is where the bolts are that line up with the head. The O is where the extra hole is in the valve cover. Unfortunately, it's not over the gasket either. I figure it's going to shoot oil like a sieve if I don't plug it.
