Well Ithink that the fuel pump on my '97 f-150 5.4l is going out. I lose all power when driving (almost feels like trans is slipping comes and goes) When I am in neutral it will only rev to 3000 rpm. It also misses a bit at idle. I've got the dreaded left and right bank lean codes logged. I've already changed filter so I guess that I,ll change the pump and go from there. I don't have acess to a pressure guage right now but with 163,000 miles on original pump I figure it needs changed anyway. Any suggestions what else I should check? thanks
You put me on the right path Dave I went to clean my MAF senson and when I opened the housing about a quart of water came out. We just had a big rain here and I guess I sucked a bunch into the snorkel. It didnt help that the water turned the dust on my air cleaner into mud which clogged the filter. You can see how the filter was sucked down from the vacuum. I need to go get a new filter and some brake clean to clean my sensor but I'm fairly sure this will take care of it. Thanks again!
