Daytime Running Lights
I understand by plugging in a relay and a resistor I can have DRL on my 2003 F 150 Supercrew. (The wiring harness has sockets where I can plug in) I have part numbers but they are for a 2001. (YL1Z-13B218-AA and 1L3Z-14A601-AB)
Ford makes a kit but with that you have to cut and splice. I don't want to do that. Will the parts with these numbers work? If not, where can I obtain part numbers for my 2003?
Thank you,
John

I'm in Canada where DRLs have been mandatory since 1990 and I dont know much about trucks in the US when it comes to things like that. Were DRLs optional? Your dealer should be able to look up a DRL resistor and relays for a Canadian truck if not. The dealer's catalog probably shows US and Canadian vehicles. Our Canadian catalogs show US vehicles.
I think it's safe to assume that all the connectors you need will be there. Most of the time they make one wiring harness and just add parts if needed. The manual shows 2 relays for the DRLs under the dash on the left side in a auxilliary relay box.
The resistor should go up under the L/F headlight, in behind the bumper area.
