Of the 20,000 or so obsolete Ford parts I've listed here on FTE, this is the first time someone has said they have called, and the sources say they don't have any.
I've seen one maybe two guys come back and say something similar but I don't remember where they were from.

Haven Ford in KS seems to have the cheapest prices. One member bought a pair of NOS telescoping mirrors for his '63 for the original marked price of $17.50 each.
Another member bought a super rare lower Race Track quarter panel moulding for a '77/79 with a tool box. Most of the Race Track mldgs have been repro'd, but not this puppy.
The moulding fits from the edge of the tool box, then up and over the wheel opening to the end of the quarter panel. Member paid the original marked price of $35.00 for the little charmer.
The first time was concerning the Ranger Lariat radio bezel script. Two Ford dealers were listed as having it, but when I called, they said they did not have any and hadn't stocked anything like that. The one place that did actually have some had seven of them, to the tune of $70+ dollars each.
The second time was for the Lariat and Bronco XLT Rosewood grain door trim panels. Three Ford dealers were listed as having it for a fair price, but none of them even knew what I was talking about, and one of them even decided to suggest that I look at the year code on my truck to make sure it wasn't a 2008. Then when I gave him my 10 digit VIN number, he told me that wasn't a valid VIN number.
t seems that today, most peeps don't give a damn, buy Chinese made crap, then whine about the state of the US economy.
They are blind to the fact that the trade deficit between the US and China is over THREE TRILLION DOLLARS!
Most of that money is in T-bills. If the Chinese ever cash them in, it will bankrupt the US, so you can kiss the US economy good bye...forever.
You said it all, man. It's amazing how many blank faces I get whenever I try to encourage people to try to support your local neighbors and businesses instead of running out to Wal-Mart for everything only to buy cheaper goods made overseas.
"When you buy from a small business, you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, a dad pay a mortgage, or a student pay for college. Our customers are our shareholders, and they are the ones we strive to make happy. Thank you for supporting small businesses!"

But please don't stop doing what you are doing for us on this forum! I can't tell you how many NOS genuine Ford parts I have gotten over the years just from reading your posts addressed to someone else. I will soon have everything I need to start my full interior/exterior restoration project, using all genuine Ford parts!
For the most part, I have had pretty good luck buying the obsolete parts from the dealers you list. Aside from a few who want "mega bucks," most of them are all too happy to get rid of the parts, and most of them will give you a fair price. Just have the part number ready, and try to call in the morning, before lunch and everyone gets busy with walk-in customers.
It might be more helpful if you could list the part numbers, the dealers ND said to call, and those you actually spoke with.
The only person who can do that now is Bill himself because the last time I called on a part was about a year ago now, so I don't even remember which dealers I called, let alone who I spoke to.
Sometimes I wonder why I bother listing Ford part numbers, sources for NOS Ford parts, when peeps buy them from repro parts sellers instead, usually paying more for made in China crap.
You helped me find the correct part number for the Ford clutch/firewall repair kit. Thank you!
Sure glad there's people on here that know a lot more about these truck than I do. I figured they were all molded into the plastic like mine is. But then again maybe mine is just glued on and looks like it molded.

You've helped me get several NOS parts for my truck. The last two were the new tailgate, and the bushing for it. So, I just want to say thank again. I think more people than not really appreciate your expertise. Whether they say so or not. Thanks again.

The only radio bezels with a molded on emblem to my knowledge were the 1980-1981 Custom radio bezel, and the rare-ish F600-F800 F-O-R-D script radio bezel.

It might very well be not molded on, can't remember for sure, but sure seemed like it was. Just the Burlwood one with the square radio and clock cutouts that says XL.
But I have slept sense the last time I had it off so could very well be wrong, old age thing ya know.
