I recently saw on CL a really nice F350 4x4 that was a regular cab with a 10 or 11 foot utility box on it. Said it was a special order cab/chassis and then he mounted the bed on for his construction company. It looked really nice too but regular cabs don't have enough room for me.
I saw a f350 in joplin,mo at the loves truck stop he made a 10ft. Bed it looks great, I'm doing the same thing for my 1969 f600 project just take a 8ft. Bed in good shape cut 2ft. Off a 6' or 8' bed and weld the 2ft section on the front. Since yours has duel rear wheels you have to cut out part of the bed floor to accommodate the tires he used a 55 gallon drum cut to fit to tub it out. I'm using both sets of original wheel wells with a spacer to fit.

10ftbed simple cut a 2ft section off another bed and weld together i think that a good idea.
now i would imagine you would want some support under this new section easy cut a two foot section off the end frame of donner truck weld together .
idk if you would want dully or not gues that up to you but my big question is would u want to move the rear wheels back say 6in if not for stability but for appearances
IMO, if youre going to spend the time on a 10' box, I would take the extra time and reinforce the crap out of it with 2x2 box or larger.
the way the factory stamps these beds out are pathetic.
sheetmetal is not the way.

Or just build a flatbed, utility body, drop side or other more commercial-like bed and put in the extra effort to make it follow most of the original body lines. It would more work than just grafting beds together but less work than doing an A+ job grafting two beds together and the end result would be more useful.
Also, odds are that 99% of people who wish their 8ft bed was 2ft bigger are gonna quickly beat the living hell out of any bed without a drop in liner. Good luck finding a 10ft drop in liner.

I've got two factory 9' box trucks in the collection. One is a 56, the other is a 67. Both F350 and both Flareside, although I don't know if that term was in popular usage back in the day. I do know they were known as Express pickups. Little off topic of course given that we are in the 87 to 96 forum.
