83 f150 4x4 Radius Arm removal
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to completely remove the radius arm because its bent and i got another one. Do I have to pull the axle shaft to get to the nuts inside the housing or are the nuts welded in place so you can just pull the bolt out with out tearing the hub and everything apart?
Thanks,
Kyle

I have never pulled the radius arm completely off, but in this procedure I copied from Autozone's site, the do not mention taking the axle components apart to get it off. I tried to take the arm loose on a Ranger, and my biggest problem was not having a wrench big enough to take the nut loose inside the spring. I had sockets, but could not get them through the coils.

1.Raise the vehicle and position safety stands under the frame side rails.
2.Remove the shock absorber lower attaching bolt and nut and pull the shock absorber free of the radius arm.
3.Remove the lower spring retaining bolt from the inside of the spring coil.
4.Loosen the axle pivot bolt.
5.Remove the nut attaching the radius arm to the frame bracket and remove the radius arm rear insulator. Lower the axle and allow the axle to move forward.
The axle must be supported on a floor jack throughout this procedure, and must not be permitted to hang from the brake hose. If the length of the brake hose does not provide sufficient clearance it may be necessary to remove and support the brake caliper.
6.Remove the spring as described above.
7.Remove the bolt and stud attaching the radius arm and bracket to the axle.
8.Move the axle forward and remove the radius arm from the axle. Then, pull the radius arm from the frame bracket.
9.Install the components in the reverse order of removal. Install new bolts and stud type bolts which attach the radius arm and bracket to the axle. Torque all fasteners the specifications shown in the Torque Chart at the end of this Section.
