Considering 6.7

Fellas,
I am considering trading in my 05 6.0 for a new 6.7, if the price is right. If anyone else has made the upgrade, please share any pos or neg reviews. Sounds like overall, folks are happy with these trucks. Thanks

I traded in my '05 6.0 last April and have absolutely no issues. I just hit 20,000 miles this week. This has been the best truck and engine I have ever owned. I wouldn't hesitate at all to trade up.

Some cases have been bad fuel.
Others are unknown.
You don't want the HPFP topic brought up on your thread, trust me.

I've had no water in my fuel and so far so good; 28,000 miles here.

Just under 5k here and happy as a lark.

I traded a 2005 6.0 with 47k on it and don't regret it for a minute. My 6.0 was an outstanding truck and while I really loved it, this truck is just so much more refined in every way.

Agreed. No sense in polluting your thread with something that's been discussed ad nauseum in countless other threads here.

If your truck is still good I would hold off for a few months and let this shake out. Believe me, they look better when you want one than when you have one. If this problem raised its ugly head a few months earlier I would probably be driving a GMC.

Many insurers do not cover this repair. Would be misleading to suggest otherwise. USAA for example will absolutely not cover this repair if it were to happen. I think I read that State Farm might, and Allstate. May be others.

I don't want to change from USAA....but it seems like they won't cover me in this case. I hate that this is even causing me to consider leaving USAA.

What did that end up running you?

When I bought the 100k B2B on my explorer that was nearly 2k. Can only imagine what a 200k on a SD would run.
