Not hard at all, but getting the entire dash apart to get to, thats another story. took me most of the day to get it all apart, and back together. And I had screws left over........ Take good notes, pictures, etc. Disconnect the battery, because you have to unhook the passenger airbag and remove it. The Haynes manual has instructions on removing the necessary components to get to it. I dont reccomend taking it lightly, its not hard, but there are a lot of details involved and getting it back together in the correct order so you can get to all the screw locations.
Need not take entire dash out. Just pull passenger side. There is a couple guides at Google how to do it. Many guys here did it. Do any one use Google any more?
Thats what I did too, still seemed like I had to remove every screw that was in the dash to get it to swing out like that. Dont ever want to do it again.
My first core lasted 12 years and 70000 miles. Then Ford replaced TWO in three years!! This current one is also going but I'm going to do it myself. Couple of YouTube videos are very helpfull. What I'm curious about is if anyone has heard/seen a brass/copper heater core? There is a radiator shop in Calif. that is making them. Anyone with an opinion? They also have extra solutions to help prevent further electroylsis.
There is a post or link if you search that has a step by step set of instructions that I would recommend you find before you begin. Its about 26 pages. I used them several years ago and couldn't believe how helpful and complete they were.
