I think this thread brings up a great point, that sometimes just nosing around your truck or car can really pay off. Whenever I do an oil change, I always look at some stuff while I'm under there waiting for the oil to drain. U-joints, sway bar links, exhaust studs, wiring condition, brake rotors, etc. It's one of the benefits of being too broke to take a vehicle to a dealership for service, you can actually find stuff to save money! Plus by hiding under there for 20 minutes my wife can't find me to clean the gutters...

Or your next post might be "I went up to clean the gutters and found missing shingles, water leaks around the vent pipe and clogged downspouts"
