The 4.2 is a nice motor but when you say will it be about the same what are you trying to compare it to? Your old truck or another 07 F-150?

If you don't plan to tow much then the 4.2 will be a nice engine as a daily driver but it is a little bit under powered for these trucks but that should not affect you too much for the use you have described.

not bad platform to start with

the 4.2 is a little anemic for my tastes, but the truck around the motor is rock solid. you have any mods planned?

Nice truck Brutha! I realy like the extra cargo space built into the reg cab platforms. That 6 should be fine for DD duties. A nice set of alloys would make it pop nicely.

PATS your stuck with

Certain keys are smaller. Post a pic of your current key so we can see which one you have

Take a close look at your key.
You will see that the head with the buttons can be opened to change the battery.
If you open it you will see a regular sized key is inside of it.
The huge head is just a fob that fits the key inside.
You can separate the fob and key and put them on your key ring.
The PATS transponder chip is in the key head not the fob.
You will be able to use the key and fob as usual.
