i am considering purchasing a 2007 f150 4.2 V6 5 speed. it has 53k miles on it. is this a good truck? main use is just a DD. any isses that i should be aware of? this will be my first new(to me ) ford.
Current truck is a bone stock 79 f250 4 speed. will the HP to TQ be about the same?
The 4.2 is a nice motor but when you say will it be about the same what are you trying to compare it to? Your old truck or another 07 F-150?
If you don't plan to tow much then the 4.2 will be a nice engine as a daily driver but it is a little bit under powered for these trucks but that should not affect you too much for the use you have described.
Nice truck Brutha! I realy like the extra cargo space built into the reg cab platforms. That 6 should be fine for DD duties. A nice set of alloys would make it pop nicely.
Is there a differennce between the E and F series PATS systems? Really dont like how huge the ign key is. Also how does one disable the damn TPMS system?
Take a close look at your key.
You will see that the head with the buttons can be opened to change the battery.
If you open it you will see a regular sized key is inside of it.
The huge head is just a fob that fits the key inside.
You can separate the fob and key and put them on your key ring.
The PATS transponder chip is in the key head not the fob.
You will be able to use the key and fob as usual.
