Recently I removed my grill to hose out the radiator and after installing it back and getting up to highway speed I had this BAD whistle coming from what I thought was the windshield. I took it to a local window replacer and he fixed two loose pieces but the whistle was still there. So I got out the Duct tape and went all the way around the windshield, cab lights and side mirrors. But i would still get the whistle.
Then out of desperation I put a piece of tape across the joint of where the hood and grill meet and the whistle was gone! Only problem now is I cant figure out how to stop the whistle without the tape. Ive adjusted the hood and the grill but no joy. I'll update when I find a fix.
EDIT: the whistle sounded like a person just constantly whistling. It changed with wind direction or when a truck passed me....
Hmmm... I have a whistle but I have never tried to track it down. Mine is a very high pitched tone though and I suspect it is in the windshield or driver window seal area.
Maybe you can narrow down the location of the whistle by using shorter lengths of tape. Then inspect the seal closely in that area. Worst case? Door seal mod on the engine hood seal?

Funny you said that, I did insert some latex in the hood seal but that did nothing. My whistle starts around 65 mph. I know its not the corners, nor above the headlights. I just put a piece of tape across the hood seal where its flat and the whistle stops. Try some tape in the same location and let me know what you get.

I just don't spend much time on the freeway but I'll do it just for you.
Thanks! But I must warn you that if your whistle goes away with the tape, it will be a headache to find the fix. Or for you maybe not. I needed some more brainpower to help out!
Both I've had has this high pitch whistle, the colder the worse and windier, the worse. The faster you go gets worse. I always thought windshield area. But they've been replaced. Never thought about grill. I will tip my hat if you figure that one out.

Just throw a piece of duct tape across the gap between the hood and grill. See what that does......
Subscribing. In my last highway run, I heard the same whistle around 75mph. Even if I turn the music up I can still "hear" it. Mine only happens in clean air and is noticeably worse during gusty conditions.
Another possibility is air is getting under the hood at the front and the whistle is coming from the back of the hood? I'll try some tape on the back of the hood on my way home from work tonight.

Have you put any tape on HPFP?
Seriously, have you tried adjusting the rubber (hex head) stops? Just wondering if you were to lower the hood a bit so that it would compress the seal more - would it at least change the frequency or speed or something?

I thought bad fuel might be causing the whistle, but then I started thinking normally. I have adjusted the hex screws, but not enough to say if that helped. I plan on making several stops on the parkway this evening to test different hood positions. I'll report back on the results.
I thought my whistle was in the windshield area too but I found out it was comming from the chrome cover on my outside mirrors. They were just a tad bit loose and I smacked it with my hand to seat the cover better and it stopped.

I have the exact same whistle - starts at 65 (faint) and gets louder as I go faster. I have looked at the seal around the windshield and don't see anything. I took the windshield wipers off to see if that was the cause and no joy. Arrggg.. Definitely would love to find the source....

use the tape on the hood. Sounds like a person whistling. Sometimes it sounds like two people whistling.
